In 1972, to one of the soap operas he scored, Marcos Valle wrote this gem that to me has the same overall feel from Surf's Up. The metric, the arrangement and that suspended harmony are similar. The song overall feels incomplete and is badly sung by another guy, but keeps me scratching my head if it was influenced by the Beach Boys song from the prior year

I think Marcos Valle is a genius, but I don't hear anything very 'Surf's Up ' sounding about this little ditty. I have no doubt Valle was a huge Brian Wilson fan, even though he has his own dintinctively masterful sense of melody.
