I say "finally" because it took some sleight of hand to get my account active (thanks, Charles!).

BB fan since the early '70s, saw them in the '90s in Lincoln, Nebraska, when Christopher Cross opened for them and they had the Beach Boys Cheerleaders.  Also saw Brian doing SMiLE in New Orleans before Katrina (enjoyed it *very* much).

I'm a librarian who was a music major in another life.

My collection is small but carefully chosen, I think.  I was so happy that Brian got to a place where he could revisit SMiLE and finish it.  Lately I've been marveling at Dr Murphy's new book, Becoming the Beach Boys, 1961-1963, and the outtakes from the SMiLE sessions on the Capitol CD box set.  Brian had an uncanny ear for musical textures!

And production aside, I’d so much rather hear a 14 year old David Marks shred some guitar on Chug-a-lug than hear a 51 year old Mike Love sing about bangin some chick in a swimming pool.-rab2591
