I've always thought the copyright claim for this song was pretty ridiculous.  A lot of movies and TV shows have avoided using it because they'd have to otherwise pay licensing fees.  Now, the copyright claim has been ruled invalid by a judge in Los Angeles.  Pretty interesting story. http://www.latimes.com/local/lanow/la-me-ln-happy-birthday-song-lawsuit-decision-20150922-story.html
