I really like it man, good job.  I'd like to hear it with more Hal Blaine-style drums...

One of the very few good songs on the album and you just nailed it, dude. Seriously. Kudos. Great job and arrangement!

"...very few good songs on the album..." according to you. Roll Eyes Yeah, it'll be a cold day in hell when Brian can live up to your hero's solo output. I mean, how can he surpass outings like
Country luHv, Looking Back With luHv, First luHv, Sumahamina, Everyone's in luHv With You, Pisces Brothers, and the one, the only SIP?  Huh

Thanks guys, glad ya'll are digging it! It was a fun little Sunday afternoon project. I intentionally tried to sing it with early 60's BW vocal characteristics (over the sampled Walk On By instrumental of course) to give an approximation of what it could've sounded like. Although I think it may have ended sounding a little more like Carl.  Smiley

Here's a stereo remix for the completists:

This is my favorite - love the double tracked vocals!
(Are the drums sampled from IJWMFTT?)

Thanks!

Close, it's actually from Wouldn't It Be Nice. The big snare in the chorus is from the hit at the end of the intro on the released version. The 2 other snares I used for the fills + 2nd verse are from the tracking session take where Hal comes in a little early.

I love the arrangement on this. It's a shame about all the autotune glitching going on here...

Like I said though, stellar arrangement! I'd love to hear this played like this live in the studio.

True I got lazy and did the whole song down in 2 takes. Technically not supposed to record on weekends at my apartment (so lame) so I just busted it out quickly and tuned the leads in Melodyne. FWIW, there is no tuning on the harmonies.

Maybe I'll do a 4th version with non-tuned leads. Smiley

Yeah, I figured it was Melodyne given the lack of "solid" notes as such. And I thought the Harmonies sounded great! Excellent. If you can bust out a solid take for it, I'd love it Smiley
