I realize that the aforementioned combination may not be the most popular sort of sound around this message board, but I want to give a little plug to one of my absolute favorite local (Minneapolis) bands: The Belles of Skin City. All I can say, I guess, is that if you feel like something that's a little far out and abrasive (for typical Beach Boys fans' tastes, anyway), but very smart and well-done, check them out.
