Hypothetical holy-grail BB finds (other than media) and their potential value
«
on:
July 26, 2015, 06:01:45 PM »
Setting aside all potential holy grail BB media finds (like more Smile tapes and the full Leonard Bernstein video footage), what types of non-media related holy grail BB artifacts might possibly still exist, and how much might they be worth if they ever came to market (with authenticated proof)?
A few that come to mind:
Actual Smile fire helmets
The actual mythical sandbox
Brian's Pet Sounds LP cover jacket/coat thing
Mike's first onstage-worn hat
Murry's glass eye
Party promo potato chips

I can't imagine how the sandbox could still exist. Wouldn't it have been removed/disassembled when Brian moved out?

Probably discarded unceremoniously. A shame too, considering there's no photographs of it either...

If we're gonna list the sandbox, maybe the arab tent?
I dont know after that. Cant think of anything else

Isn't it likely that Frank has that? Shouldn't be that hard to call and ask.

Brian's plate glass window that's on the Wild Honey album cover. Doesn't Jeff Foskett own that?
One of these days, I want to have a copy of that made. My favorite BBs album cover.

I've heard that Marilyn owns it and had it installed in her current home.
Jeff's window is inspired by the WH window, but not an exact copy. There's a photo of it floating around in the ether.

Last heard of in Oregon I believe. Nothing for the last 20 years or so.
Still think the coolest item is the Marilyn/ Brian tablet someone here has.

It would be awesome if someone could buy it and restore it to a similar state as to when Dennis owned it, and maybe set it up as a museum/tribute to him. It'd be like a little mini floating Graceland.

The Woodie.
How cool would it be to have a reunion between the original 62 woodie and the surfboard also featured in the pic (which, I seem to recall, recently reappeared in an online auction). Just imagine how much they would have to catch up on...
Also, how about the goats on the PS album ? Has anyone ever wondered as to how they coped with their brief moment of fame ? Was there a sudden upsurge in the popularity of the pets corner in San Diego ? No ? Me neither...

They used to have a jingle on the Brother telephone line. I loved it and can't remember it now - who knows it may already be on some album.

Whatever happened to Brian's late 60s detuned piano? I'd love to have that....or maybe someone can show me how to get that sound from a regular upright.
