Jim Morrison

Bob Marley

Jim Croce

Ronnie Van Zant

(This will go over well, but) As a singer I don't especially wish Dennis were still with us. As a person, generally, of course. (I don't wish anyone an early demise.) As a writer, yes. As a personality, yes. But I don't much like his voice all that much. I realize a lot of people do. That's fine. Feel free to talk about how evil I am, or how I have no taste, or whatever. Blah blah blah.

Voices I miss and would love to have still around:

Freddie Mercury
Billie Holiday
Gram Parsons
Alex Chilton
Chris Bell
Roy Orbison
Buddy Holly
Elvis Presley
Amy Winehouse
Don Van Vliet
John Lennon
George Harrison
Nico
Jeff Hanson - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FC7ICWiN6iw

Among the living, I wish we still had the best voices of Brian Wilson.

It should be what artists..

Then the list is longer than those who are still alive.

Maybe not, but it's better than another extensive thread about the evils of Mike Love.

While he didn't sing lead too much, Richard Wright of Pink Floyd is missed.  It would've been nice if he'd have been able to add some vocals to The Endless River album.

Ritchie Valens

Jeff Buckley (if he hasn't been mentioned yet)

Levon, Rick and Richard of The Band

Frank Zappa (what he could have achieved in the intervening 22 years!)

Captain Beefheart (even though he quit music in '82)

Frank Zappa (what he could have achieved in the intervening 22 years!)

He would have grabbed social media by the horns and been just as prolific.

I really wish Rick Nelson was still with us. It's sad he left this world, but his legacy lives on.

Robert Johnson, not least for him to enjoy the influence his music has had in the decades since his death.

Eva Cassidy, who died before her massive breakthrough mainly in Europe.

And the entire frickin' 27 Club. Twenty-seven's no age to die.
