a diseased bunch of mo'fos if there ever was one… their beauty is so awesome that listening to them at their best is like being in some vast dream cathedral decorated with a thousand gleaming American pop culture icons.

PRO SHOT BEACH BOYS CONCERTS - LIST

To sum it up, they blew it, they blew it consistently, they continue to blow it, it is tragic and this pathological problem caused The Beach Boys' greatest music to be so underrated by the general public.

YUP. You can bet your ass I'm gonna be there, too. Taste of MN is kind of a blast, anyway, but with Al there? Hoo boy!

Still undecided whether I'll go. What sorts of material does Jardine tend to do these days? (If it's PT Cruiser, I'm leaving!)

I think on Eric's site is a setlist from this year. I guess that's what it will look like.
He tours also with Dean Torrence and David Marks, don't know if he will play stuff from those concerts on his solo-date....

I was, yeah! It was a really good show. Apart from a REALLY REALLY rough start on "California Girls," which was the lead-off song (which got chuckled through), it was a top-notch show. Really low-key. Al isn't a big flashy frontman like Mike -- he just plays the songs, chit-chats amiably with the crowd, tells stories, and sings his ass off.

He's got a good band with the great Ed Carter and Billy Hinsche, and everybody sings great. Conclusion: not as technically good as Brian's band, but way more fun and soulful than Mike's.
