I will be heading for Wildwood, NJ in a couple weeks and would like to make a playlist of summer-type songs for the trip. I have all the ones that come to mind from The Beach Boys and Jan & Dean, even Katy Perry and the Ramones' "Rockaway Beach." But I'm still a little short on running time.
Any suggestions would be very welcomed. They can be from any time period and any genre, just as long as they have a beach, summer or surf theme.
Thanks in advance!!

No Snow On The Mountain - Nada Surf (not really a surf/beach song, but it's got a really catchy chorus perfect for a road trip)
Catalina - Seven Foot Wave
Surfin' Safari - The Ramones (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dTGr9f5yPCY)
Holes To Heaven - Jack Johnson (both acoustic and album versions)
Let's Go Trippin - Dick Dale and his Del-Tones
Miserlou - Dick Dale and his Del-Tones
Sooner or Later - Fastball (another not really having anything to do with the beach, but it's a great road trip song)
I Want You Back - The Esso Trinidad Steel Band (sounds like a beach song because of the steel drums)
Shoot The Curl - The Honeys
Hot Rod High - The Knights

Also Born To Be Wild by Steppenwolf, and Roadhouse Blues by the Doors - though not really summer/beach themes, perfect for road trips.

God must’ve smiled the day Brian Wilson was born!

"ragegasm" - /rāj • ga-zəm/ : a logical mental response produced when your favorite band becomes remotely associated with the bro-country genre.

Ever want to hear some Beach Boys songs mashed up together like The Beatles' 'LOVE' album? Check out my mix!

Sammy Hagar - Livin It Up
Meat Loaf - You Took the Worlds Right Out of My Mouth
Led Zeppelin - Down By the Seaside
Chad and Jeremy - A Summer Song
The Drifters - Under the Boardwalk

Something Good Can Work - Two Door Cinema Club
Sun - Two Door Cinema Club
In the City - Caveman
Island in the Sun - Weezer
Younger - SW/MM/NG
Safe in LA - Gold Motel
Perfect in My Mind - Gold Motel
Feeling Ok - Best Coast
I Love You - Said the Whale

Also anything by Real Estate or Ducktails is good, easygoing beach-y music. They have the same guitarist, so that makes senses Tongue. Other good summer bands include Vampire Weekend, CCR, or anything off of the Some Girls - Rolling Stones album... gotta love summertime oldies Grin

Funny story about "Wildwood Days." A few years ago I got into an argument with a boardwalk shop worker, because he insisted The Beach Boys recorded a song about Wildwood, NJ. Hahahaha. I'd never heard of the song before, but still.. not The Beach Boys.

Thank you to everyone contributing suggestions!! I'll be checking them out when I get off work tonight.

Having spent lots of fun family vacations on the South Jersey shore in wonderful Wildwood-By-The-Sea, I'm envious that I won't be taking the trip this  Summer to join you there.  Cry  Here's a few songs you can't forget to include in your road trip playlist:

Of course you have to have this one from 1963 that would forever make Bobby Rydell a South Jersey legend:
Bobby Rydell- Wildwood Days     https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DN99qXkcnKI        (I see Sheriff John Stone has already mentioned this one. Good call, Sheriff!)

Then you have Chubby Checker getting into the Surfing fad in 1963. You can be sure that they were all twisting at the Jersey Shore to this one. Keep in mind, Chubby Checker grew up in nearby Philadelphia (just like Rydell) and, in fact, first introduced the world to his version of 'The Twist' in 1960  at the Rainbow Club in Wildood. That's right, Wildwood is actually the birthplace of The Twist craze! When he sings about a surfin' party, you know he's singing about  summers at the South Jersey shore:

This one's not fun in the sun, but a bluesy 1968 cooker from Todd Rundgren's Nazz about Todd's dues-paying days,  back in the 60s, playing the nightclubs of Wildwood NJ. Love the line about the city looking like it was 1953. C'mon- how many songs have been written about Wildwood? Rundgren is also from the Philly area (I'm seeing a pattern here.)

Traveling to the West Coast now, there's this sublime 1967 hit from Lesley Gore (memorably immortalized on the Batman TV show):
Lesley Gore: California Nights   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dCO46rZJG-I

This obscuro Rick Henn (the Soulful Old Man Sunshine guy) homage to Brian Wilson from 1973 has long been a favorite of mine:
