This is British Esquire's cover story for the August issue. Perhaps because it was conducted in Japan where he was once in durance vile, and maybe since he was jetlagged a bit, Sir Paul's a little more acerbic than usual, especially about the perennial Lennon-McCartney vs McCartney-Lennon thing. (Though, as he points out, Hammerstein & Rodgers wouldn't have had the right zing.)  Anyway, worth reading, despite Brian and the guys going unmentioned.
