So my girlfriend had a "frightening expierence" as a child...her father chose to get every BB song he knew and sing them all the time and now she hates them (greatest hits I assume)...so i've been warming up to her through BB-related stuff and she's loved it...I uploaded Time to Get Alone (redwood version), My World Fell Down, You and I (the guy who covered it on the ESQ cd), Don't Ya Just Know it....and she's liked all of them! i figure starting out with some Friends and Sunflower....

does anyone of some advice?

I agree, the Redwood version absolutely sucks.

Play her some of their ultracool stuff that nobody's heard, like "Friends", or "Getcha Back" or "Good To My Baby"

Possibly, but I'll bet if you asked 100 people to name 10 BB's songs, none of the thousand would be "getcha back"

That doesn't mean anything, I bet none of them would be "Hawaii" or "I'm So Young", for that matter.

O.K., you win.  you're right.  He should absolutely not play "Getcha Back" for his girlfriend, because too many people have heard it... and as I was saying, I only want him to play things that nobody has heard.  We're talking literally here; so he should only play her unreleased tracks that Brian still has locked up somewhere.

Thank you for straightening me out on my misslip, I never should have said that nobody has ever heard that song.

A) I do like POB, it just took me a few listens to get into it.
B) Out of all the "obscure" Beach Boys songs for someone to name, Getcha Back just seemed like an odd choice due to the fact that it was actually one of their later-era hits.
