Was That same song the only song written newly for 15 big ones or was it an old song like back home and all the others?

Same with "TM Song," which has a very strange arrangement.

Had To Phone Ya?

Everyone's In Love With You dates from 1975.

What about It's OK?  Wasn't that started in late 74-early 1975?

Yeah all the orig songs were old, back home from 62/3.

The Beach Boys didn't release an album of new material between Jan. 1973 and 15 Big Ones in July 1976. Songs written in 1974 and 1975 are not old songs. Those are new songs.

Do you only consider a song "new" if it's written in the studio during an album session or something?

I mean songs written for the album vs songs from previous years that were rehashed for said new lp.

The basic track for "It's OK" was recorded late October 1974.

Why does it even matter? It's a nice song either way.

So nice in fact that Brian recycled part of That Same Song into Rio Grande for his solo LP.

Is there a multi-track recording of "That Same Song" with the Double Rock Baptist Choir that appeared in the "It's OK" TV special?  At one point the piano continues after the accompanist gets up to direct the choir, so there must have been a pre-recorded piano track.  I like it much better than the album version, and it's a joy to watch Brian come alive singing it.  Would love to have this released in good quality.
