Remember that user on here named Jess (sugarandspice) anyone?
She was here for about two months then vanished into thin internet air.
Well, she mentioned to me that she was in some third world country teaching about aids and healthy sexual practises and stuff like that. Does anyone know the name of the service (?) or organization she was a part of?
It seems like something I might like to do.

Yeah, she mentioned something like that to me a while back as something she wanted to do.
I have no idea who her affiliations are with. Ask her.

She actually did it though. Said it was a real experience.
I don't even know if she's still alive. I just want to know what 'thing' she was with that afforded her the opportunity to go and help and teach less fortunate people. I have a long life ahead of me until the corn dogs catch up; I want to do some good in it.

I suspect that she was turned off by the whole meltdown in March, as that was about the last time we heard from her.

I can't join not being a U.S citizen.
I can't even find volunteer work!

I think to become one you must apply to be one. Right now I'm a resident as far as I know. I'm not sure if I want to be a citizen or not, and if they instill the draft on us I can still dodge it in my status now.

Born in England and lived there for twelve years then moved here to New Jersey. Been here a long time now, which I hadn't realized until recently.

Do you ever actually plan on doing any of these things you mention? You create a thread about maybe joining the army and then in a later thread become almost insulting about the notion. You make post after post of high school-level "insightful commentary" about where you are in life and your role in the world, but, to me anyway, it comes off as more of you wanting to sound like somebody searching than somebody who really is. I believe you may be in that depressed teenager phase where you realize the people around you are all shallow nobodies and you feel the need to prove your depth by appearing introspective.
How's that for "ageism?"

Eh, you're probably right actually. Doesn't mean I do it on purpose though, it's completely out of my reach.

This was a performance Rerun and I did a while back. He's on guitar and I'm playing drums. The girl singing is our friend Jane.
Watch it and delight in the glorious sounds that we made.

Whatever happened to Jane? She seemed to disappear after the performance...

Pretty good guitar but the drumming is terrible.
