Quite an unusual list with some surprising entries (and a few factual errors in the song descriptions). I never thought anything off Sweet Insanity would ever appear on a best of Brian Wilson list. www.popmatters.com/post/193278-the-12-best-brian-wilson-songs/

I saw this on the BW Forum.  I really like the diversity hitting on all eras - Brian's first #1 for J&D, early BB, pre Pet Sounds BB, Pet Sounds, late 60s BB, early 70s (if you count the 1971 Surf's Up), solo, and BB reunion.

Personally, I'd swap Isn't It Time for one of the last four tracks on TWGMTR.

I'd also probably use a solo track from TLOS or NPP.

But, it's hard for me to argue with a list that includes my two favorite BB songs - Warmth of the Sun and Surf's Up.

Isn't it Time is one of the few songs I like off TWGMTR but to rank it in Brian's top 12 songs ever is a bit of a joke. I could name at least 50 songs of his that are better.

I'd rather be forced to sleep with Caitlyn Jenner then ever have to listen to NPP again.

I could name about six songs off that album alone, but I like the fact that they included a song from TWGMTR.

I like the idea of a balanced list that doesn't focus too much on one specific era.  I must say however that #1 is jarring.  As much as I love that song.

Feeling inspired here waiting for my car to be worked on I'll make a list of my own.

12. Melt Away (Brian Wilson '88)
11. You Still Believe in Me (Pet Sounds)
10. I Get Around (All Summer Long)
09. The Little Girl I Once Knew (Single)
08. Breakaway (Single)
07. This Whole World (Sunflower)
06. Let's Put Our Hearts Together (Love You)
05. Kiss Me, Baby (Single)
04. Good Vibrations (Single)
03. 'Til I Die (Surf's Up)
02. Surf's Up (The Smile Sessions - piano only)
01. God Only Knows (Pet Sounds)
