It's true. Some pretty cheap Californian cabernet.

Yeah, but where's the value in being good at drinking a lot of cheap wine?  Other than being able to drink a lot of it, of course...

I'm pretty good at drinking more expensive wine, too. It just happened to be cheap that day.

And the value? Being drunk, of course.

What else do you need from wine? It isn't a multi-tasker: it does one thing, and it does it well. But, um...if I have to come up with something, I guess they say red wine is good for the heart, too. So there are two things.

I hear it enhances meats, but I've never had it with food so I can't say.

It goes well with many foods, if it is properly matched.

My Grandma had hardly tasted a sip of wine in her whole life until recently. That means from 1932 to late last year she had never been drunk! Her doctor recomended her two glasses of wine per day to help her body deal. At first she exploded in the office at such a ridiculous suggestion; three months later she was "spilling" half empty (or half full?) glasses of wine to be re-filled with more. We're onto her crafty little tricks now, and one more and she's getting thrown into the dungeon.
