maybe they are prophets and are predicting some catastrophic event that will flood the whole US.. I'm going to have to decode the rest of their songs to find more prophecy's...maybe write a book... "The Beach Boys-The American End Time Prophets"..

What I have never understood from a geopolitical point of view is why "Australia's Narrabeen" was included in Surfin' USA, was it just some sort of Cold War colonialism by the USA or did Brian just have no f#*#in' idea that Australia was not a state of the USA?

Well, it's hard to find a surf spot that rhymes with "Ventura County Line". Best I could come up with was "Clemente's Linda Lane". Although Linda Lane in San Clemente may not have been called that in 1963 and apparently isn't that good anyway!

Yet another Beach Boys lyric that needed a bit more work.  Smiley

Does this question imply that the Beach Boys were less popular where people had a beach? Were they? Or were they more popular in those places? I know they were very popular in inland California, maybe because the beach was close enough to be real for us but not close enough to visit very often. It was just out of reach, which may have made the whole thing more exciting.
