Semi-Related: NYT on Charles Lloyd

This is semi-relevant for the General On Topic Discussions forum, but mods, feel free to move it if you think that's best.
The New York Times has a short article and a podcast on Charles Lloyd, saxophonist and flutist who recorded and toured with the Beach Boys. (They get a brief name-check in the article; I'm only a couple minutes into the podcast so I can't comment on that yet.)

That's got me thinking of a NPP what-if already. Namely, suppose Charles Lloyd had been on sax and flute on the album, rather than Paul Von Mertens?
It's a pretty sure thing he'd do it if he'd been asked - he covered Caroline No on an album a few years ago and plays GOK in his shows sometimes, and still talks about how much he loved working with Brian and the guys in the day.
Imagine "Runaway Dancer" with Lloyd - it would put some real soulfulness in the tune, maybe enough to get moved up a couple notches from the second-to-last position it has in my current track ranking. Plus, having him on Half Moon Bay with Isham would have been great.
