I did something like that on my last.fm journal a few years back: http://www.lastfm.de/user/Lowbacca/journal/2008/09/02/2595ei_brian_wilson_with_the_years

Nice !
The picture from '92 is from '97/'98 though, it was a Imagination promo shot. And I always thought the pic from '69 with that great shirt was from the Smile era

To sum it up, they blew it, they blew it consistently, they continue to blow it, it is tragic and this pathological problem caused The Beach Boys' greatest music to be so underrated by the general public.

Thanks. Bad research on my part for the alleged '92 image. I'll replace it at once. I'm pretty sure about the '69 one, though.

EDIT: Turns out that was the only image (I thought) I had confirmed as being from 1992.  LOL You 100% sure it's an Imagination shot?

Is there someone who may be willing to do some sort of a picture collage with Brian from '62 throughout 2012? I think it would be really cool to see him and how he changed from year to year. I'd do it, but my picture collection is not that vast or varied.

Sounds like you should get hold of the 2005 Brian Wilson tour program. Contains picture(s) of BW from each year between 1961 (or 2) until 2005.

EDIT: ah, Craig Boyd beat me to it...  Grin

Hah sorry! I always did have the fastest trigger finger in the west  Grin

The 1969 shot was actually taken 12-68 at a Honey's session.

I would be glad to help out and provide photos for missing years. I can date pretty much anything through the late eightiees. His look hasn't changed enough in the last twenty years for me to be spot on. I know the pictures from 1993-94 have him heavy and with sideburns but I can't really pick a 2002 from a 2000 and so on.

Yeah, that was the toughest part, among other things. By now I have a fairly big collection of BW/BBs-related images, but lots of them I find it hard to asign an exact year to.

I'll contact you for help then, much appreciated!  Smiley

Dick Curtis with Beachboy Dennis Wilson

I just posted this in the Carl picture thread but thought it's interesting enough to post it here as well. I've never seen it before

One more correction:
The "1984" photo is actually 1988-89. It appeared in RS magazine documenting Brian's impromptu performance at a Hard Rock Cafe where he donated or signed the piano. Joan Rivers was there that night at the HRC. The event is also narrated in the WIBN book.
