Why do people insist on quoting a whole set of pictures? We JUST saw them.

some people don't know how to edit their quotes, I suppose.

We like looking at them over and over LOL
or maybe they just like Dave Clark 5 #1's

And the Beach Boys know sound....

The above Craig 8-track ad was in a 1976 Rolling Stone. Probably more than one issue. May have even been in other magazines.

Now..........for a free Smile Sessions box, name each vehicle and its owner!

Boner points for the place this photo was taken.

I'll take a guess... The Black Pickup looks like a Ford and you said it was Carl's.
The Rolls belonged to Brian.
The Vintage convertible Ford belonged to Dennis.
The Vintage MG belonged to Mike.
The big blue car to Al. The back blends into the background a little so it's difficult to tell the shape.
It has a boxy look and reminds me of a Buick... but could be a Pontiac... but could be a Cadillac...
really tough to tell because some of the car is difficult to make out. Regardless I will say it was
manufactured by GM and that covers the above 3 cars.

I think you have all of them right but one.  And maybe AGD or Jon will correct me if I'm wrong:

The black pickup was Carl's.
The '48 MG TC is Mike's. Still is one of his prized possessions that he aquired in the early - mid 60's.
The '32 Ford was owned by Dennis. Karen bought it for him, but he lost it soon to drug dealers (paid debt).
The large blue/gray car (Caddy?) was Brian's. The license plate said "Love 1". Stan Love chauffeured Brian around in it because he lost his license.
The Rolls was Al's (I think).

BTW, this Craig Powerplay advertizement ran in various magazines in 1977.

I, I love the colorful clothes she wears, and she's already working on my brain. I only looked in her eyes, but I picked up something I just can't explain. I, I bet I know what she’s like, and I can feel how right she’d be for me. It’s weird how she comes in so strong, and I wonder what she’s picking up from me. I hope it’s good, good, good, good vibrations, yeah!!

cool... I used to build model cars when I was kid and I liked the ford cars and trucks and corvettes, especially.
I probably saw that ad, too. It's a trip to see the old ads because there is transporting back in time.
I was close! I remember seeing a picture of Mike with an MG and I thought I read somewhere Brian had a Rolls.
But Al's hat should have been the give-away. Ha!... I figured Dennis as a convertible type, so process of
elimination... but fun... where was the pic taken? I was thinking it would be on the west coast because they
have their cars... was it Malibu?

I don't know why but the picture of the boys looks like it was just pasted into the picture of the parking lot. Like I said, it seems to be from the same session as the backcover of "Love you" and M.I.U. But I don't know.....

To sum it up, they blew it, they blew it consistently, they continue to blow it, it is tragic and this pathological problem caused The Beach Boys' greatest music to be so underrated by the general public.

The reason I know what Brian's car looked like and what the license plate said is that I stood next to it in June, 1976 - once when Stan pulled up to RCA studios to pick up Brian, and the next day parked in the driveway at Brian's house on Bellagio Dr.

Mike still has the MG:

I'm not sure where the picture for the ad was taken, probably on the Pacific Coast Highway near Malibu. Could be near Billy's "Morrocan Roll" house in Malibu or near Dennis' place in the same vicinity.

Is the shirt Brian is wearing the one he got for his Birthday? I think it's in the documentary. "An American Band" ...I think.
And yeah that black and white photo is the one I saw. Cool car.

For some reason made me think of back in the day when Syd Barrett would have a picture taken of him when he was taking out the garbage.

He really had a great sense of style.

I can't find the full pic. But I'd pay top dollar for the jacket he is wearing in this picture.
