I have a studio at my home in Los Angeles, and one of our specialties is getting the natural, un-computerized old school sound of the '60s and '70s, including doing Beach Boys-style vocals without autotune. Earle Mankey, who used to man Brother Studio, was one of my main mentors, and still does our mastering. We've helped out a lot of new artists and songwriters get sounds and arrangements that usually can't be done inexpensively, and I'm expanding the operation this year to include a record label to release and promote the artists that record here. Among the people who have tracked here are Probyn and Nelson from Brian's band, and a few Smiley Smilers to boot.
I don't mean to post a commercial, but I wanted to share the music here for people that enjoy a certain kind of sound and production style, and might wonder if anyone does that kind of thing anymore. There's about five minutes worth of highlights from various recordings. Enjoy! - adam
