Origins of "The Night Was So Young"

Hi Brian, I'm wondering if "The Night Was So Young" possibly dates back to the Pet Sounds era.  It sounds a lot like "That's Not Me" with the guitar being almost (if not exactly) the same.  Or was it really a new song that you just decided to go a bit "retro" on?
