My dad did the lyrics and I did the music. He had the idea for Joey Bishop the talk show host - he used to say let's break away. I did not write the lyrics.

All these years I always believed Murry"s  lyrics for the first verse and Brian wrote the second verse.  "When I laid down on my bed, I heard voices in my head...." That never   sounded like Murry's lyrics to me.
Great song. and I especially like the Brian vocal released on Endless Harmony.
