The Pet Sounds piano demo thread kinda made me think....what demos are there known to exist or at least have existed at one time?? Here's what I've been able to come up with, based on what's been released legitimately, stuff that I'm told *cough* is on bootlegs, things that may have circulated among insiders, things that have been written about in books, etc.:

Surfin' - several home demos/rehearsals
Luau - home demo/rehearsal
Surfin' USA - two home demos
Thank Him For Our Love - depending on whose story you believe, either Brian and Carl or Brian and Bob Norberg
Little Deuce Coupe - home demo
Dance, Dance, Dance - studio demo with the full band
Don't Talk (Put Your Head On My Shoulder) - Brian at the piano
A Time To Live In Dreams - Dennis at the piano
Surf's Up - two different demos Brian recorded/filmed for Inside Pop
Rendezvous - demo for "Do It Again"
Be With Me - Dennis at the piano
Sail Plane Song
Sail On, Sailor - the "Hypnotize me, Van Dyke!" tape (has it been confirmed that this still exists?)

BRIAN SOLO:
They're Marching Along - 1976 demo, Brian at the piano
I'll Bet He's Nice - Brian at the piano
Mona - Brian at the piano
Let's Put Our Hearts Together - Brian at the piano
It's Over Now - Brian at the piano
Still I Dream Of It - Brian at the piano
the cocaine tape
Sweetie - Brian at the piano
Christine
Little Children (1987 demo)
There's So Many
Don't Let Her Know She's An Angel - Brian at the piano
all of That Lucky Old Sun (minus "Can't Wait Too Long") - studio demo

The "Dance, Dance, Dance" version is an alternate, not a demo, I'm pretty sure.

Also, I don't think the Wild Honey "Surf's Up" was a demo, nor is the Inside Pop version. Mr. Doe stated that even the '66 piano/vocal recording is not a demo, but I'm not sure what the purpose of the recording was. Granted it was recorded about a month after section one of "Surf's Up" was put down, but still.

There's a demo of "Back Home" with Al and Brian.
The "'Til I Die" demo on the Brother Rarities thing. I believe he said it was just piano playing from Brian.
There are two demos of the Mt. Vernon and Fairway stuff. One's on Brother Rarities and has Carl and Brian, the other is on Get the Boot and is just Brian.
There's a demo of "That Special Feeling" that was intended for Brian's first solo album.
Along with the one from the Love You audition, there's a second demo of "It's Over Now". I know nothing about it.
"I'm Begging You Please" recorded by Brian in 1978 during the making of the LA Album.
There's also "Spark in the Dark", which is Brian messing around on the piano for a while.

Then, there's the Spring demos, which are "Awake" and "Silly Walls."

There is also a recording of Brian playing "Little Red Book", and another recording from the Holland-era of someone playing "Daddy Dear" and "Susie Cincinnati". There isn't a consensus on who plays, but it's Brian. These aren't demos, but they resemble demos.

Copying these over from my post in the "Piano Demo" thread:

"Gonna Hustle You"
"Lookin' At Tomorrow" Al guitar demo

Rumored: "Keep An Eye On Summer" Brian/Bob Norberg "apartment demo"

Does the "Lookin' At Tomorrow" demo circulate? I don't recall ever coming across it, but then I'm sure I don't have "everything" there is out there to be found.

Would have been a much better name for the aborted Beach Boys Central site.

Sail On, Sailor - the "Hypnotize me, Van Dyke!" tape (has it been confirmed that this still exists?)

It does, and was rediscovered several years ago. I mean, the original cassette.

Not that I'm aware of.  I heard it at Alan Boyd's house about 10 years ago.  I had to check the pocket recorder at the door!  Smiley
