This was posted on car forum I visit, because he inadvertently revealed the Lincoln Continental will be making a return.  LOL   But have any of you guys heard of this before?  It's supposed to be lossless, but I'm not really understanding how that will work.  I'd like to hear your opinions on it.  Pardon me if there's already a thread on it.

I don't have one so don't have an opinion, but the Pono is being dissected over in Hoffman world:

Re lossless, that's nothing new for some media players - it's merely a matter of encoding and how well equipped your device is to appropriately decode and playback. Larger file sizes and all that.

The problem is the following: 99% of the people won't find ANY difference between a lossless file and good quality mp3 (256 or 320 kbps), specially with regular regular headphones. And don't get me started with the ugly design... where would you carry that brick? the thing will not sell.

Lol, Neil Young is old and out of touch. Good luck with your digital media player, it's unfortunate you're about 5 years too late and 95% of mp3 players have been replaced with smartphones.

But hey, at least the minute minority have options other than lugging around their record players with studio-quality headphones.
