-70s Remake*
-Fully Bootlegged
There's also an alternate version of the song in which there's a very slight lyrical change in the beginning; forgot what. Might be the single mix. I think the word "the" is missing from a line or something.
Add Some Music To Your Day
-Alternate Lyrics (circulates in poor quality) (BR)
There's also audio of Al and I think Johnny Rivers teaching little kids about music, and there's a bit of Al singing "Add Some Music" in it. I think it was from a TV special or something.
SURF'S UP
Long Promised Road
-Nothing
This is probably very, very semantic and useless, but on the
Good Vibrations set the track doesn't include that distant organ chord in the beginning.
Feel Flows
-Nothing
I'd like to argue that the version on the 1990 CD is different. First of all, the EQ is a lot more balanced whereas on all other releases the middle ranges are way up, and on most releases you can hear what sounds like a heavily reverbed hum or grunt in the beginning, missing from the 1990 version.
Surf's Up
-Backing Track for first part
-Acapella (circulate in ok quality) (BR)
Another version has circulated too. If you have this on a 1990 CD or the
Good Vibrations box set, you can hear a lot of what sounds like studio noise and chatter and music on the left channel, especially noticeable during the second half. Most likely mastered on a poorly-erased tape. Might have appeared on other previous releases as well.
Marcella
-Long Mix (extended outro) in poor quality
I think the single mix is slightly different. Very bass-heavy.
California Saga: California
-Nothing
...well, nothing except the single version is very noticeably different! The mix sounds a lot busier; don't know how else to explain it...you can hear more. And at various points during the mix Brian sings "On my wa-ay," one example being right after Mike sings "'neath waves of golden sunshine."
Only with You
-Nothing
POB outtake version?
Honkin' Down the Highway
-Nothing
Again, this might be too insignificant for your purposes, but the single version (which was the one used on the 1990 reissue of the album as well for some reason) is missing the drum intro.
There's also an alternate take in the vault with a different lead vocal, I think by Billy Hinsche. It's been booted.
Still I Dream of It
-Alternate lead Vocal (different lyrics during outro "I'll find my life")
Is that the Gary Usher re-write?? (I don't have my copy of
The Wilson Project -- the book -- handy.)
