Suddenly Passes away aged 69  , another legend gone - This is becoming a very sad year for music legends passing away.

That is two Sidemen of the Stones in the week , along with Bobby Keys  Cry

I saw Ian play at The Mint here in Los Angeles about, eeek, it must have been a mere 3 or 4 months ago.... He put on a fantastic show, was warm, gracious, and told hilarious stories.

Afterward, he hung out with fans out front literally for hours ..... A few people had things for him to sign, but it was more like him just shooting the s*hit and telling more classic stories.

REALLY glad I ventured out that night.

I should mention how young and vibrant he seemed...... So sad :/

I'm missing Mac. Met him several times after his gigs. Lovely guy. Love all his work and play it regularly. It's music you can live with, nothing game changing but inclusive, relatable music which oozez humanity. I expected him to be around a lot longer. What a career and what a life. Thanks Mac.

Very saddened with the passing of McLagan as well as Bobby Keys. The former an integral part of the Small Faces/Faces, the latter a key sideman for the Stones.

Both will be terribly missed. R.I.P.

Horrible news. Loved his playing in the Small Faces.

Saw him three times playing keys for Billy Bragg.  Met him once after a show.  Wonderful gent and an brilliant player.  He elevated the show to a great degree with the calibre of his instrumental work.
