Do you mean "Sandy", or "Sherri"?  There's two different tracks from '65, and the one that Brian multi-tracked vocals for in '76 is "Sherri".  At the same group of Fall '76 sessions, he covered "Lovin' Feelin'", which is why I ask.  It would make sense if you meant "Sherri", 'cause listening to that track he did in '65 may have inspired him when doing his production of "Lovin' Feelin'".

No they're not...entirely different backing tracks.  Trust me.
If you have the Sea of Tunes "Unsurpassed Masters" series, you'll have "Sandy".
If you have Vigotone's "Lei'd In Hawaii", or any of the "New Album" boots, you'll have "Sherri".

Well, I'm not sure when Phil cut "Lovin' Feelin'" for the Righteous Bros., but the tracking date for "Sherri She Needs Me" (which preceded "Sandy") was March 29, 1965.  Does anyone here know which came first?  Earl Palmer was the drummer on both sessions...maybe he stole Brian's ideas for Phil (or vice versa)?  Smiley

I've always thought the Sherry/Sandy track was in response (musically) to Just Once In My Life.
