I just found this on the web. Some nice live pictures of the Boys, including Blondie on bass:

a diseased bunch of mo'fos if there ever was one… their beauty is so awesome that listening to them at their best is like being in some vast dream cathedral decorated with a thousand gleaming American pop culture icons.

PRO SHOT BEACH BOYS CONCERTS - LIST

To sum it up, they blew it, they blew it consistently, they continue to blow it, it is tragic and this pathological problem caused The Beach Boys' greatest music to be so underrated by the general public.

I don't think so. I believe the album was released about 2 weeks before this show.

Having seen the band quite a few times back in those days it was always interesting to see what the guys would be wearing, especially Mike. Carl also adopted a western motif for a while that was also pretty cool.

In my opinion, Mike was the coolest Beach Boy, in terms of wardrobe and on stage patter at the time.  Within ten years,  he was the least cool. In BB50, I think they were all pretty cool for guys in their 60s and 70s. The coolest today though is David Smiley
