Not to flog a dead horse... but I'm curious about this song.  I was looking over AGD's sessions for 1978 and noticed that this track was originally cut at Criteria in August.  A remake was done at Western later in the fall.  There's been a version of this song circulating for years.  Do we know if this version was the Criteria track or the remake?  And if the former, then is Mike's 1981 version closer to the remake?

And here's the second OCD question.  I hear Carl on Dennis' Wild Situation and I was under the impression that Bruce is on this track, too.  Was this ever in contention for release on a Beach Boys LP?

"Calendar Girl"  - the version circulating is from Criteria, as far as I know.

"Wild Situation" - Bruce is indeed on bvs on one mix. Strictly a DW project.

Thanks, Andrew, for the clarification.  I just figured out why I thought Wild Situation was in the running for a Beach Boys album.  In the first edition of Leaf's California Myth book he gives an "at pressitime" rundown of unreleased new songs in the vaults... one of the songs he mentioned was Wild Situation, with no other explanation.

That's how myths are made, I guess...
