A little over a month ago I received Made in California for my birthday, but I just recently got around to putting the songs on my ipod.  All of them synced over correctly except for three songs (Cotton Fields, 'Til I Die, and It's a Beautiful Day).  Cotton Fields has a tinging sound that sounds a bit like a triangle.  The other two skip back to where it was playing maybe less than half a second ago.  For all three it only happens for no more than 20 seconds of the song.  They play fine just using the CD and even play fine after I imported them into iTunes. So the problem is when I sync them to my ipod.  But I'm not exactly sure the source of the problem is.  Do you guys have any ideas?

I believe that tinging sound is a Jew's harp.
Otherwise, check your CDs for scratches.

Yeah, you're right about Cotton Fields.  I checked my 50 Big Ones version and it has the same thing.  Weird I never noticed it before.  If my CDs had scratches, wouldn't I be having the same problem when playing them in my iTunes library?  They play fine there.  It's only once I put them on my ipod that the problem occurs.

Have you tried doing a system restore on the ipod and then re-syncing the songs?

If that doesn't work I would reimport the effected songs to itunes and sync them to your ipod.

No, I was hoping I wouldn't have to do that.  It's such a pain lol.

I've been trying that.  No luck.

I forgot I also put the songs on my phone and I'm having the same problem with those songs.  So that tells me my ipod isn't the problem either.  I'm really lost on what the problem could be and how to fix it.

Just an observation about "Cotton Fields" on CD.  In addition to the Jew's Harp, I hear occasional noise (very brief and very high-pitched) which might be digital artifacts.  So, it's possible you are hearing that as well.
