Comes with an obi replicating the one with the Japanese LP.
This series features the following albums: "Shut Down Volume 2," "All Summer Long," "Today!," "Summer Days (And Summer Nights!!)," "Pet Sounds," and "Smiley Smile."

Cardboard sleeve reissues
SHM-SACD format and 2014 DSD mastering based on the US original analogue master tape.
Comes with an obi replicating the one with the Japanese LP.
This series features the following albums: "Shut Down Volume 2," "All Summer Long," "Today!," "Summer Days (And Summer Nights!!)," "Pet Sounds," and "Smiley Smile."

The technical terms are beyond me… can anyone expound?

No bonus tracks, it appears.

Am assuming these are all mono.

Interestingly, I was just reading about the 2013 Japanese SHM-CD reissues of Fleetwood Mac's "wilderness" years albums, specifically "Future Games", which apparently is much WORSE sounding in this format than in an earlier remastered CD version! It's apparently brickwalled, noisy and hissy. One reviewer accused it of being a vinyl rip. Wonder if it was mastered from an EQ'd production copy sent to Japan in the early '70s? Anyways, buyer beware!

The SHM-SACDs should be HEAVENLY sounding, not so much so the SHMs.

SMH = super high material, the special goop and process they use to make these kinda discs alledgedly improves playback accuracy or plabcuracy

DSD = Direct Stream Digital and is the encoding process used for SACD (soopa audio compact disc)and blu ray (24 bit 88.2 khz and above), standard (Red book) cds are 16 bit PCM (Pulse Code Modulation) 16 bit 44.1 khz.

Interested to see if Acoustic Sounds will move on their reissues soon
