I'd recommend to anyone who is able to get there, to show up for the Brian and Al concert at the Vina Robles Amhitheatre in Paso Robles, CA on Sept 27 (a week from Saturday). These Brian gigs are few and far between this year, and it's especially cool that Al will be there too. This venue is a really intimate place and will be a fantastic setting to see and hear Brian's great band. I'm definitely going to be there, if any of you make it be sure to say hello!

I guess this means that Brian and Al and Jon won't be turning up as a surprise at the UK Stomp convention …

I'll be there as well!  I'm going to bring my copy of the Surfin' USA album that was autographed in 1963 by the entire band...except Brian.  Maybe, just maybe, I can complete it.

That's cool. I certainly get what you mean by "maybe", as in Brian's notorious reluctance. Good luck in completion!

Don't know about "reluctance" on Brian's part. He must have signed thousands of autographs in the last ten years or so. Opportunity is more the problem, for such a cool original I think most of the band would get it done for you if they get a chance.

edit: or someone else might help  Smiley (posted at the same time as Jon! )

Is there any info on whether Matt Jardine will be back?

I guess it makes sense to have Brian on there, tho it's going to look SO out of place!
I did that with a 1962 program I have, and while it's nice to have his name with the rest, in some ways I wish I had just had him sign something else....
