One Good Reason.  I'm glad it's lasted this long, but it's not as good as the others.

P.S. That almost sounds violent. I assure you all that I am a very peaceful person.

This album is an easy target, but I actually like it better than a lot of other solo Beach Boys records. Heck I even like it better than a few Beach Boys records!!!  LOL

Looking Back with Love is Mike Love's only solo album. It was released in 1981 under Boardwalk Records. The track "Be My Baby" was produced by Brian Wilson, who also sings background vocals on the cut.
Strangely, some copies came with stickers promoting the album as "the first solo album by a Beach Boys member", despite the release of Dennis Wilson's Pacific Ocean Blue four years earlier, Carl Wilson's self-titled album earlier in 1981, and Bruce Johnston recording solo albums before he even joined the band, in addition to his 1977 album Going Public.
Also of note is the fact that the song "On and On and On" was a cover of an ABBA song which was directly influenced by a 1968 Beach Boys song called "Do It Again".

Here is the whole album: http://youtu.be/UYNUF-Sw0RQ

Thank goodness we don't have to listen to this one again.  (7)

FINAL THREE. Y'all know the drill. Vote for your FAVORITE TRACK... and away we go!

Tally on September 8th

Be My Baby
One Good Reason
Teach Me Tonight

Round#1 - Rockin' The Man In The Boat August 20
Round#2 - Runnin' Around The World August 22
Round#3 - Calendar Girl August 24
Round#4 - Looking Back With Love August 26
Round#5 - Paradise Found August 28
Round#6 - On And On And On August 31
Round#7 - Over And Over September 4

My favorite 3 have already been voted off... So I guess Teach Me Tonight  is my fave.  Roll Eyes

"Be My Baby" is wretched and the other 2 are instantly forgettable. I have to surrender this time.

My most tolerated song was "Calender Girl" not that it matters any more.

Strange one.  My favorites went in rounds 1, 3 and 6.  From what's left I like
"One Good Reason" the best.

"Teach Me Tonight," though I would have preferred "Over and Over" or "Paradise Found."

Be My Baby only got this far because Brian co-produced it.  Evil

Teach Me Tonight is much better and has a very good Mike lead.

But One Good Reason is a well written song and Mike also does a good job on it so it gets my vote.

Teach Me Tonight must've had more to learn.  (3)

One Good Reason needed two more votes to win. (6)

And with 7 votes, the winner of the one and only round of MIKE LOVE SURVIVOR is..

Be My Baby

Round#1 - Rockin' The Man In The Boat August 20
Round#2 - Runnin' Around The World August 22
Round#3 - Calendar Girl August 24
Round#4 - Looking Back With Love August 26
Round#5 - Paradise Found August 28
Round#6 - On And On And On August 31
Round#7 - Over And Over September 4
Round#8 - Teach Me Tonight September 8
Round#8 - One Good Reason September 8

Thanks for enduring.  3D
