Trisha Campo and I would like to announce the newest addition to "Our Team" here in Beach Boy Land:

A warm welcome and a hearty handclasp to.... JOSH HOISINGTON!!!

(AKA "aeijtzsche")

He's now part of the team helping us out with the archive, the upcoming website, the tapes, the music, the film, the politics (oops - did I say that?), and whatever else may be coming 'round the mountain here in BB land.  He's also going to assist us with some of our other non-Beach Boys' projects, mainly working in the vaults with all of that wonderful but fragile old nitrate film we're trying to preserve and restore.

So, depending on how one looks at it, Josh is either in the right place at the right time, or the wrong place at the wrong time.  Time will tell.  The poor guy had to spend his first day with us riding a limo with Al Jardine to a fancy restaurant in Beverly Hills after an interview shoot at the Capitol tower.

(I've had to warn him, of course, that it's all downhill from there)

In any case, we're very glad he's here.  I've admired Josh's musings and writings here on the boards for a long time, and when he mentioned that he was thinking of relocating back to Los Angeles, the wheels in our brains started to turn....

And here he is and there we are and there you have it.

Welcome aboard, Josh!

In my mind this was a nobrainer.  Josh should have been there years ago.  This is great, and everyone's happy.  Just don't forget your friends on the way up, Josh!

Congratulations to Josh and The Vaults- Couldn't happen to a nicer one, both of ya!

Guess after a few months in there you'll have a pasty complexion and be stooped over and squint-eyed like the Mole Man...and "Shortenin' Bread" running through your mind on a permanent basis.

"Remember Josh, talk corporate. The Beach Boys love that"   Grin

CONGRATS! That's what we need up there, people who care more about the music and less about the agendas and "heroes and villains".

I think by now you already found out in how many tracks Al has recorded the bass.  :D

Congrats Josh.... I'm envious of both you and Alan...  mind trading jobs?  You can look for an entry level IT job and I can manage the vaults   Smiley

Congratulations Jeff. I've always enjoyed and appreciated your posts -- I hope this won't preclude you from doing more. Give 'em hell/Have fun/Help free Dennis' early '70s work/Convince the powers that be, that a S-T-E-R-E-O 'Wild Honey' release would be well worth the time and money, etc...

I leave you with one subtle reminder...

This is great for Josh and (hopefully!) great for The Beach Boys's music. What a wonderful opportunity for someone whose passion has shown in spades since day one. Best of luck with the job and enjoy it out/in there!

Thanks everybody, and a special thanks to Alan and Trisha for being so great.  I feel very lucky to be doing what I'm doing, and I will certainly attempt to repay fortune for the favor by doing whatever I can to advance the legacy of our favorite band.

This is absolutely beautiful news.  I can only imagine how amazing this opportunity feels for you.  And as others have said, it's clear that you are the perfect man to be doing the job for them.  It's heartening to know that those in charge of the Beach Boys' archives have a good eye for keeping them in good and caring hands.

HUGE congrats. THis is either the job of a lifetime or the opportunity to label tape boxes on minimum wage (there are none that can be pissed on so much than those that would kill for the job!).  :D

Here's hoping it's the former, and that as a member of the escape commitee joining the guards you let 'em know what the inmates want!

I assume this could put paid to your work here....conflict of interest? Hope not!
