This is an offshoot of what was being discussed in the BW album thread, but i'll start a new OT thread for any kind of general discussion. Here is a new article on Pitchfork looking at how and why there are so many "oldies" topping the charts nowadays:

http://pitchfork.com/thepitch/418-senior-moments-why-more-albums-by-middle-aged-artists-like-tom-petty-and-weird-al-are-hitting-no-1/

It specifically mentions artists who use outlets like QVC to gain huge amounts of firstweek sales. So unless Brian & Capitol's marketing teams have a big promo push in place, then we'll be looking at a damp dribble of #28. I would be surprised if the album is released at any other time than to tie-in with the biopic.
