I got the one-disc CD issue at a JB HI FI. Couldn't believe my luck, though it didn't have the second track with all the Bambu tracks. Would love to get the album on vinyl.

All I know is...I've seldom seen an original POB. Sad  I think it was in 1994 when I went to a local record store and asked the guy if they had it. He said he got at least one request for it every week.

I believe it was in 2000 when I saw a promo copy at Beatlefest with a $25 price tag. I didn't feel like paying that much for a record. Kicking myself now; I could have at least tried to talk him down a few bucks...but still...one of my few regrets in life.

I've only had the two main CD reissues. I was lucky with the Caribou CD. Someone circa 1995 sent me a catalog that listed it. I called the number and asked for it, but was told that they no longer carried CDs and went all-vinyl. About half an hour later the guy called me back and told me he found a copy in the back room and if I wanted it it was mine for nine bucks. Smiley

You can still pick up an LP copy in that range, if you keep a watch at Ebay

I went into HMV last week looking through the 'W' vinyl section for "No Pier Pressure" when the single LP reissue jumped out at me!  I had been thinking of buying it online even though I have the 3 LP Sundazed edition.  I couldn't believe they had it in stock so bought it.

Needless to say they didn't have NPP, which I kind of expected.  But the surprising thing was that there was no Beach Boys vinyl even though the bigger Glasgow store has all the recent 70s vinyl re-issues.

If someone had told Dennis in 1977 that nearly 40 years later his solo LP would still be getting stocked and sold in a record shop before his big brother's and the Beach Boys I am sure he would have felt quite proud.  The other aspect is that someone at the Music on Vinyl label is doing their job and someone at Capitol/UMe is not!

The vinyl is excellent, nice and flat and very quiet.  The sleeve is a faithful recreation of the original, and the label is the same as the original Caribou Records one.

Got this one too a few months ago - very nice collection indeed (although the selection's quite random here and there).

Sony impress with their newly presented Legacy Editions

A series of newly reissued ‘Legacy Editions’ from Sony are presented as (almost) full-blown Japanese mini-LP CD / vinyl replica sets and the series boasts classic albums from Jeff Buckley, Dennis Wilson, Billy Joel, Elvis, Miles Davis, Iggy Pop and more. SDE has created the ‘unboxing’ type video (below) to illustrate the new packaging.

I managed to score the 3x LP set a few years ago on eBay for less than $50. It's one of my favorite pieces in my collection.

EDIT: ...and I just bought the UK 2016 Legacy Edition re-issue. That'll make a nice birthday present.
