Threads are, at their core, conversations. Someone asks a question, brings up a point of contention, wants opinions, etc. etc. etc.. People being to talk about what the original poster said (usually) and the conversation is off and running and there's really no telling where it will go. A thread about Stamos may turn into a conversation about archival issues, a thread about cool-looking rock stars could turn into a conversation about pedophilia, hell, even a thread about a new album of Brian's could turn into an incredibly detailed conversation about beers... That's just how conversations work. Once a conversation is over, it's over. It is of it's time. Everything's been discussed and there's really no joining in a year later.

I say that to say this: duplicate threads are a-okay. In the time that a new thread on an old topic has been started, new opinions have been formed, new information has seen the light of day, new people have joined the forum, other people have left, etc.. It's a different environment and you're going to get a different conversation. If two similar topics have been started at the same time, then, yes, that can be annoying. But if two similar topics are started years apart, I seen no problem with it. They may have the similar titles and questions, but they will not have the same content.

So go forth, friends, and make this thread about beds and which one helps with your achy back.

Duplicate threads happen. The mods can merge them together. They aren't worth attacking someone over, like what happened in that one thread for no good reason.

Finally, we agreed on sth. Yep, certain people just can't quit it & act like naughty kids taking every word literally when it's obiously a figure of speech. Yawnsville.

My point was that you and baMbu dennis, instead of ignoring the thread, made a big deal over the fact it was a Duplicate thread...and then the thread became an awful mess  Tongue
