First how many of you like Surf's up Album of 1971? I was just thinking of an Alternate Track Order of the album. My track order would be this
Don't Go Near the Water Feel Flows Fourth of July Long Promised Road The Nearest Faraway Place Pacific Ocean Blue Wouldn't Be Nice to Live Again
California Slide Cool Cool Water Sail on Sailor Steamboat The Trader Surf's Up Til' I Die

When everyone is programming their songlists, which version do you use for Wouldn't Be Nice to Live Again ? The 4:40 version from Made In california or the longer version( 7:07) I see listed on Klay's CDs( and presumed to be the same mix as on Frenchie's CD) ?
Also, why take off any tracks? There'd be planty of room for all, right?

Good tracklist - although I'm unsure as to whether the band were in possession of the time machine they'd have required back in 1971 to have assembled it.

I posted it in the other thread, but here it is again... Surf's Up LPA1: 4th of July A2: Long Promised Road A3: Disney Girls (1957) A4: Don't Go Near the Water [instrumental] A5: Surf's Up B1: Lady (Fallin' in Love) B2: Feel Flows B3: A Day in the Life of a Tree B4: 'Til I Die B5: (Wouldn't It Be Nice) To Live Again SinglesLong Promised Road b/w Disney Girls (1957) Surf's Up b/w Don't Go Near the Water [Vocal Version] "Landlocked" EP - I realize not all these tracks are related to the historical Landlocked, but I wanted to group the odds and ends of the tracks above somewhere and the title fits well thematically with Surf's Up. A1: Sound of Free A2: Take a Load Off Your Feet B1: Student Demonstration Time B2: Lookin' At Tomorrow (A Welfare Song) When everyone is programming their songlists, which version do you use for Wouldn't Be Nice to Live Again ? The 4:40 version from Made In california or the longer version( 7:07) I see listed on Klay's CDs( and presumed to be the same mix as on Frenchie's CD) ?
Also, why take off any tracks? There'd be planty of room for all, right?
My removal of tracks has to do with trying to make the best album possible from tracks considered at the time. For those which I removed, I still found a place for them on a connecting EP.

I like it the way it is. It's a quirky pop record. The overblown Dennis songs would spoil that vibe for me

overblown? Retrokid - please stop rising to the bait!! It's deliberate - have you not realised that by now? And the result is threads then go off on boring my-opinion-is-better-than-yours tangents. Gabo does this all the time. So he doesn't like a lot of Dennis' music? Who cares? Hey, it's his loss. Let's leave it at that.

So it's worth to mainly ignore his comments.
