Sweet insanity article

Being a fan of Brians 80's period I have scanned in an article about Sweet Insanity taken from a 1995 issue of Mojo magazine. I read this before I heard the album and I got quite enthusiastic for it after reading about it. Consequently i've always liked it. I haven't worked out how to post the article on this page so i've got some links to sendspace instead if anyone's interested.
On a separate note to the administrators, in the reviews section would it be possible to include in unreleased albums that people may have heard - perhaps specifying what songs would constitute the featured album?

Thank you for posting this.
Bill Holdship is probably one of the few who championed Sweet Insanity. I don't agree with his assessments here but when you compare how Brian sounds compared to how he sounds on GIOMH and the Xmas CD, the difference is like night and day.

Great article. Thank you for posting it. I have always had a soft spot for "SI"(2nd mix), and always thought it was better than most people were giving it credit for. I do think the article stands out as too 'pro-SI" the praise is almost gushing. IMO, it is NOT better than BW88", although the 2nd mix of the album is worthy of release. and I do not , nor ever will , think that Dylan and Wilson on "Spirit of R and R' works as a vocal mix, as stated by the Detroit News. Once you hear Brian's full vocal version, you'll go with it everytime.

I hate SI. The production is really bad, which makes the songs sound worse than they otherwise would. In some cases, the songs are bad. I've come to the conclusion that Landy contributed to the music as well as the words on some of his work with Brian, which is a problem.

The production can at times be quite jarring, it's not as easy on the ears as the 88 album (which is saying something), though I prefer some of the original versions to the remakes even though in theory I shouldn't.

As I stated earlier, agreeable people seem to disagree about the merits of the contraversial 'non' release. I, for one, accept it into the mix of Brian albums I would play on any given day. Stunning music.
