Aside from a few bells 'n' whistles, the basic sound on that album is the basic Ramones sound, just bathed in reverb and echo. It's The Ramones, just more massive sounding. So I guess Brian-produced version would have sounded less massive, with some added weird synth overdubs, maybe... Would he been involved in pre-production as well, he may well have fed Dee Dee's more absurd leanings (as it stands, End of the Century doesn't have those trademark "weird", songs, being more of a Joey album) and thatcould have been interesting.

Mellow.

.....with lots of harmonies. Not much rock 'n roll though. The Ramones next album will be big Spector type rock 'n roll.

It probably would've sounded like the late-70s Honeys song, "Do Ya" (big favourite of mine, by the way... is that Brian doing the falsetto part in the end?).

Personally I think Brian Wilson and actual punk music don't mix very well. Past the early hits he never seemed to care much about electric guitars.

Carl Wilson's 'Time' would've made a good Ramones tune. Think about it. It has that Tommy/Marky Ramone drum beat, it's fast and only a few chords. The Ramones version wouldn't have  piano or sax, it would be all solid Johnny Ramone bar chords. It would've been a great song for their Pleasant Dreams album.

Joey would have sung "Don't Worry Baby" instead of "Baby I Love You."

Actually I'm unhappy about that. Today! is my favorite BB album because it has lots of guitar tracks and and Brian's already fully developed composing skills.

The first guitar on Little Honda is a pure punk guitar. I wish I could remix that tune with that guitar much louder! Wink 2
