Welcome Smilers to the fifth and final Odds 'N' Ends Beach Boys survivor!

Before we begin I need to get a feel for what songs to include. As last time we are only including songs that were either:

a) previously unreleased OFFICIAL tracks
b) tracks not included on an album (ie Crocodile Rock)

Live recordings or booted material not yet officially released (ie Life is For the Living) are not included.

1980 - present

Soul Searchin’
You’re Still a Mystery
California Dreamin’
R’n’R to the Rescue
Crocodile Rock
Problem Child
Chasin’ the Sky
East Meets West
Happy Endings
Goin’ to the Beach
Da Doo Run Run
Why Don’t They Let Us Fall In Love
Living Doll  LOL
Lady Liberty

I'll let this cook for 24 hours. If you feel a track is missing, let me know. But don't forget to state your case as to why your track should be included.

You've listed happy endings and east meets west twice.

Is this for only released tracks or can one put River Deep Mountain High and Stevie on the list?

Vote goes to 'East Meets West'

Gorgeous opening harmonies give way to a truly sh*t song.

I guess I'll go with "Problem Child" (barely, over "Crocodile Rock")

Would the Beach Boys Medley and Living Doll technically qualify?  Also, wasn't Why already done for the 70's one?

Thanks for pointing out Why.

Medley and Living Doll? I never heard of them. When were they released?

The Beach Boys Medley was a #12 hit in 1981, essentially a mishmash of early hits.

If I'm not mistaken, Living Doll was a limited single release in 1987 with a Barbie promotion.  I believe it has just Brian on it but it is labelled Beach Boys.

Lady Liberty?
Logged

On our way through this "backstage" maze, Bruce joined up with the group and said hello, singing "It Never Rains in Southern California" and joking with some of the older ladies. I'm not sure if they knew he was a Beach Boy or simply an enthusiastic elderly gay gentleman.

Lady Liberty?

It's just Lady Linda with different lyrics, right?

Is this the Medley: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CbX3rKMHYy4

If so, I don't think we'll be including that.  LOL

Here is "Living Doll". https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YYJEsTplKvc

 LOL

I guess since it has the "Beach Boys" label, it qualifies.

I think lady liberty deserves a chance, although it is definitely a long shot.

I agree, Lady Liberty should be on there.  What about Don't Worry Baby with the Everly Brothers?

If a whole survivor poll is being devoted to Stars and Stripes' remakes then Do It Again 2011, which was an authentic Beach Boys track with a Beach Boy lead vocal, ought to be included here.

Agreed. That plus Fun, Fun, Fun with Status Quo.

I am also in favour of adding Lady Liberty. Not only does it have different lyrics, it also has Al talking on the intro, and typical 80's drums!  Rock!

OK, I am only aware of it being on Concert and Stars & Stripes, so I didn't know why it is on here.

I think it must be the same one from S&S vol. 1. I'll delete it.
