Hey Little Tomboy is creepy. Banging women by the pool is fun and conjures up warm summer thoughts a Beach Boys song should.

Mike's not a Hawthorne boy. The Hawthorne guys stuck together. The Wilsons and I always had a special bond. We felt like we were a team.

Can't believe they worked with Little Richard and decided to do a fucking ballad. Insane.

Happy Endings, East Meets West.

I don't know about anyone else, but I don't see the big issue with East Meets West.  It certainly has some 80's cheese, but I'm a fan of Carl and Brian's bits in particular.

Crocodile Rock - half for the terrible song, half for the even more terrible video. Oh Carl, the things you put yourself through for this band...

Do It Again - because it was pointless...

Apart from the two Andy Paley productions, I don't think I've listened to any of these more than twice.

Changing my vote from Problem Child to Crocodile Rock.  I still think it might make a better listen, but I hate how unnecessary it is.

May I ask, why unnecessary? Wasn't it recorded for the Two Rooms Tribute album? I mean, if they were asked to be a part of it, then naturally, it would be necessary.

I like my covers to offer something different or, if it's not going to do that, at least approximate the quality of the original.  I don't believe this version accomplishes either of those things, being pretty much a lackluster early 90's incarnation of the Elton John song.  And yes, it's merely a contribution to a tribute album, but if it's just going to be a subpar cover, does anyone really need to hear it?

Granted, the other covers remaining weren't particularly necessary either, but they stand as better recordings to my ears and, at least with Why Don't Let Us..., I like the different production.

Welcome Smilers to the fifth and final Odds 'N' Ends Beach Boys survivor!

Time to get going on this. As last time we are only including songs that were either:

a) previously unreleased OFFICIAL tracks
b) tracks not included on an album (ie Crocodile Rock)

Live recordings or booted material not yet officially released (ie Life is For the Living) are not included. 1980 - present

(9)

They really knocked themselves out over cover design on this one. (16)

Lets vote off two at a time. Vote your TWO LEAST FAVORITES!! I have included links to ones I hadn't heard yet. I figure I can't be the only one.

Tally on May 18th

Soul Searchin’
You’re Still a Mystery
California Dreamin’
R’n’R to the Rescue
Problem Child (http://youtu.be/9EeSuuCwaQ4)
Chasin’ the Sky
East Meets West (http://youtu.be/FJ12pAM9Ujc)
Goin’ to the Beach
Da Doo Run Run (http://youtu.be/HoPMARU_v_8)
Why Don’t They Let Us Fall In Love
Do It Again (2012)

Round#1 - Living Doll  (http://youtu.be/YYJEsTplKvc) May 14
Round#1 - Lady Liberty May 14
Round#2 - Crocodile Rock May 16
Round#2 - Happy Endings (http://youtu.be/M3hNuvhQsCw) May 16

My votes got to East Meets West and Problem Child. PEEEEEE UUUUUUUU!  Angry
