Also the instrumental track Why on MIC.

Wasn't that from the Paley sessions? I don't think that was from the 70's, which is all we are concerned about at the moment.

I thought this track was 77-78 time frame?

Might have been. I honestly have no idea. I can't find it on AGD's site.

MIU sessions, 1977.  I didn't mention it earlier because it is an unfinished track.  But IIRC, I think we included Mona Kani before (didn't we?), so...  All this gets very tricky!

EDIT:  Oops...just saw the other responses.

How about the Still I Dream of It demo? It was officially released on the I Just Wasn't Made for These Times cd and is about 300 times better than the Adult/Child version Tongue

Keep "We Got Love"! Accidental German pressings should count too!

Also, Lady and SOF differ from Barbara and All Alone as the first two were released on non-BB releases first.

Agree about the demo's merits, but let's not allow alternate versions or demos or we will never get to the finals! Cheesy

Plus they were released before the period that we are talking about.

4th Of July (1971)
Brian's Back (might be a Mike Love song, but was released on Endless Harmony/MIC as a Beach Boys song)
Wouldn't It Be Nice To Live Again (1971)
We Got Love (I believe it was included on a European pressing of Holland - by mistake, but still an official release)
Goin' To The Beach (1979)
Da Doo Ron Ron (1979)

Discount 4th Of July and WIBNTLA. They were on the third Odds And Ends round (and lost), which covers the material from 1969 to 1971.

Most alternate versions/demos haven't seen official release but this one has. Besides, I think it's substantial enough to warrant inclusion, it's really different from the A/C version and it's definitely the track I'd chase all the way to the end.

It'll never be included. The 2 earlier versions of Back Home weren't included as well as the Be With Me demo, California Feelin' demo, Do It Again demo etc. More exclusions include some Lei'd In Hawaii tracks (Help You Rhonda, California Girls), alternate versions (Break Away, Good Vibes, Til' I Die) and single versions (Be True To Your School).

It wouldn't be fair to include the accidental pressing of We Got Love because I think most of us haven't heard it.. right?

I guess those who haven't heard it can judge it by the live version?

Or, you could do an extra "Odds 'N' Ends" round, with live songs that don't have an officially released studio version by The Beach Boys. There are enough of those:

We Got Love
Wonderbill
Graduation Day
Runaway
Johnny B. Goode
The Little Old Lady From Pasadena
Long, Tall Texan
Monster Mash
The Wanderer
What'd I Say
You Are So Beautiful
Back In The USSR

How many times do we know live versions which are superior to the recorded version? Or vice versa. No, I don't think we'll include We Got Love. Sorry. If enough people disagree (lets say ten people?) then I will include it.

I have thought about doing a live one... perhaps down the road a bit we can. It would have to be entire albums. I have also toyed with a "Solo Survivor" idea which would pit officially released solo albums against one another eventually.

A sensible decision not to include We Got Love (and yes the live version is superior to the studio version).

I like that idea, but would it mess up the final competition brackets?
