He should do "She's Leaving Home". Isn't that the song that Macca played in the studio in L.A. for Brian and Marilyn?

Depends who you listen to: some say "A Day In The Life".

Indeed. I was just reading other accounts from various other bands/musicians that McCartney also visited when he was in L.A. and they all remember Paul playing them a "A Day In The Life". It would stand to reason that was the track he brought with him to "blow some minds".

What is particularly satisfying is that Brian Wilson is the second singer cited after Dylan and one whose opinion they think is worth quoting.
They also quoted Billy Joel.
This is definitely great news, my option for Brian would be to sing "Live & Let Die", now that I imagined it. Or better yet, "Things We Said Today" (one of my go-to Beatle faves). But we'll see.

That's a pretty inspired choice! Tug of War is a very underrated Macca solo album.

looking forward also to Willie Nelson's Yesterday. Such a stale song now, but if anyone can breathe life into it then he can.

It's my bad luck that I detest every single note of Wunderlust...

Wow, do they seriously need to do 87 different configurations of various deluxe and non-deluxe sets for this thing? Of course, you have to buy the $200 super deluxe version to get eight extra exclusive tracks. At least the Brian track is on the main set. Looks like the best deal content-wise outside of that super deluxe version is the 2 CD + DVD version that's only around $23. That gets you the album (sans the 8 bonus tracks) plus a 60-minute DVD. Curious how much, if at all, Brian figures into the DVD documentary. There are 34 (or 42) tracks, so they can't cover them all in 60 minutes.

I love love love "Wanderlust" but I can not imagine Brian belting it out in it's original key of D. Incidentally, I recorded a cover of it when i was 12 years old (vocals, piano, bass & drums). Brian Wilson & Paul McCartney ARE my living idols.

Brian doing "Wanderlust" is pretty cool, but I'm pretty anxious to hear Dr. John do "Let 'Em In".

I love the album version, but McCartney did it even better in the Give My Regards to Broad Street movie.  Now it's Brian's turn.  What a great great choice.

Preach it brother.  Temporary Secretary, please.

Edit: just noticed me and 4 or 5 other people all immediately thought Temporary Secretary when we heard that... which means it's a no brainer... which means we got to try to get him to do it, just like everybody's been trying to get him to play "Honkin' down the Highway" in concert for 15 years.

Converted in December 1977, retired from music in 1979 and made a gradual return since the mid-1990s, with the support and encouragement of the Muslim world (for which, I feel, he is a splendid ambassador). Toured the world in 2009, Australia in 2010 and Europe May-June 2011, and he was inducted into the R&R HOF this year (as Cat Stevens).

Yeah man, I don't know how anybody could buy that super duper deluxe set with the usb stick shaped like a hofner guitar and not feel like a complete douche.  Good fucking god.  It has special edition art, and then also special edition photos if that's not artsy fartsy enough for you...

I love how they spin certain things too, like for instance it comes with a hand numbered certificate of authenticity ... but if you think about it, it'd be harder to make it a printed number certificate of authenticity Smiley  Since it's easier to just make 1000 copies of a piece of paper and then have some jackass write "1/1000; 2/1000; 3/1000" on it, they call it 'hand numbered'.

If I bought that thing, I would sit up at night crying about how I finally became so shallow I spent 200 bucks on an anonymous person's handwriting and didn't even get any alphabetics.

So all that needed was check the current list of inductees. Thanks for the info.

Never heard of "Wanderlust". I'd have suggested Brian doing "Here, There And Everywhere", though that is probably my least favorite track off "Revolver".

I would've preferred mutitracked vocal takes of "Bip Bop" or "Hands Of Love" ala "Row, Row, Row Your Boat" -- or a very scaled back (read: NOT TLOS-esque faux Brian) version of "Don't Let It Bring You Down."

The ultimate would be him doing "The Man Who Found God On the Moon."

Least favorite over "Yellow Submarine"? Yikes!
