Surprised at votes for Livin' With A Heartache - to me, it's the only genuinely decent song on the entire album; the descending 'after all this time...' section is great!

Please don't spam the thread with too much opinionating (a little is ok  ).... and without further ado... Keepin' the Summer Alive is the twenty-fourth studio album by American rock band The Beach Boys, released on March 24, 1980 on Brother, Caribou and CBS Records. Produced by band member Bruce Johnston, following aborted attempts to have Brian Wilson return to his former role, the album is the last to feature Dennis Wilson, who would subsequently drown in December 1983. Voting was pretty evenly spread this round. Oh-ho Da-ha-ha-harlin' is voted o-ha-ha-ha-haff! (10)  As usual vote for your least favorite track. The track with the most votes gets voted off. Tally on April 5th Keepin' the Summer Alive Livin' with a Heartache Goin' On Santa Ana Winds Round#1 - School Day (Ring! Ring! Goes the Bell) March 28 Round#2 - Endless Harmony March 30 Round#3 - Sunshine April 1 Round#4 - When Girls Get Together April 3 Round#5 - Some of Your Love April 5 Round#6 - Oh Darlin'Livin' with a Heartache is an ok song. But it doesn't sound like it belongs to the Beach Boys to my ears. |

I was familiar with the lovely bootleg version before I heard the KTSA version and I still remember being shocked by the huge drop in quality. The production? Those lyrics? That intro? All terrible. How to f**k up a good song...
Livin' With A Heartache is by some considerable distance the best song remaining.
