I guess it's like stamp collecting…

I have to ask, what is the point in having all that stuff if you don't even listen to them?

Are you nuts?  The point of collecting is having the cool stuff you collect. Playing just tends to ruin the value, especially if you have to open a sealed copy to do that!

Surely then an unopened crate of 25 sealed copies is the ultimate?

To each his own I guess. I just don't know if having the Taiwanese version of Still Cruisin' would really fulfill me in any way. I personally do like collecting to an extent. I like having different mixes and versions and whatnot. But of course, it's actually the music in that case. Not just the packaging.

Aye, who'd be so careless as to play one of them…

I love it!  I thought I was a collector!  I have sealed stuff I don't play.  I know what the music sounds like and I love the fact that it's like picking the stuff up in a record shop.  I often just go in take out my lps, look at them and put them back. An expensive luxury I guess but at least I don't blow my money on other stuff that doesn't hold value or is gone the next morning and all I'd have is a sore head Cheesy

Do you anticipate a future time where CD's are collected and prized like the phonograph records of old or do you just not like digital files?

Hey BeachBoys_Fr,
I know you sometimes take a fair amount of abuse here, but that is one very nice looking collection!  I am a bit jealous.  Ha Ha...
And my wife thinks I have a problem with too much BB/BW stuff.

I'd love to see some more high res photos just admire it a bit further!

What troubles me is the number of CDs in the pic I can recognise by spine alone… a problem shared?

I have some prized CDs like Pet Sounds Audio Fidelity and some Pastmasters so yeah I love collecting those too.  I've still not opened some of the 2012 reissues as well but probably will at some point.
