Did Al write it, or co-write it with Brian? I'm not sure but it certainly sounds very Brian to me and fits right in with all those humour songs he wrote in the early 70s - H.E.L.P, Games Two Can Play, Good Time etc. The production is great too with all those crazy sounds. Isn't there a good Desper story about Brian getting right into the recording of Feet and getting up on the roof and crunching stuff or maybe I imagined all that?

Brian and Al wrote it together (with Gary Winfrey), but I'm pretty sure it was Al's song before it was Brian's.
Also, I think the "roof" story was told by Al.

I've always thought of it as a bit silly and dated (lyrically that is, I quite like it musically), but what do you think is so 'wrong' about it? I mean it's not exactly "Summer of Love"...

Surf's Up is the seventeenth studio album by American rock band the Beach Boys, released on August 30, 1971 on Brother Records and Reprise. The album was released to more public anticipation than the Beach Boys had previously had for several years. The album's title is taken from the song of the same title written by Brian Wilson and Van Dyke Parks for the abandoned studio album, Smile.

Welcome back to the a new round of BEACH BOYS SURVIVOR. Remember to be respectful of others opinions. Please don't spam the thread with too much opinionating (a little is ok  Grin).... and without further ado...

I don't think a song has ever been voted off with so many votes (32). Does that mean it's the most hated song in BB history?  LOL

Best get outta site because Student Demonstration Time is getting shot down!

VOTE OFF YOUR LEAST FAVORITE TRACK!!!

Tally on February 13th!!!
