No it's not. The frame is not part of the Mona Lisa painting, but lyrics are part of a song. Little Girl is a well produced recording, but the song itself isn't good.

You're totally right. It's not good. It's fucking GREAT!

I'm sad to see "We're Together Again" go. As much as I love "Sail Plane Song," it's unfinished. "We're Together Again" is a great song with a wonderful production and should still be here.  Cry

Anyway, I vote "Sail Plane Song."

Agreed. I Do deserves to win Part 1, WIBNTLA deserves to win Part 3, and The Little Girl I Once Knew deserves to win Part 2!
I'd be heavily disappointed if it didn't

My grandfather, 11 years the elder of my grandmother, was a merchant marine. When he left to serve, he was 17 and my grandmother, a girl down the street from him was 6--when he returned from service, he was 28 and she was 17--she wasn't the little girl he once knew. 70+ years later my grandfather has passed on, but he left behind 6 children, 8 grandchildren, and a wealth of memories. So, no, I don't have a problem with the lyrics or the message of The Little Girl I Once Knew. The music is a masterpiece. Definitely in my top 3 BB songs--along with This Whole World and Little Bird

Agreed - although personally I'd rather ADUFS won round 1. But it'd be plain madness if WIBNTLA and Little Girl didn't win rounds 2 and 3 - madness I tells ya!!

Little Girl I Once Knew. Cheesy lyrics.

Seriously? You really think one of Brian's favourite songs he ever made's lyrics are:

.......DAMN YOU WOODSTOCK NOW I'M OBSESSED WITH THAT PICTURE!!!

Can’t Wait Too Long

Like I said.  I don't care when it was recorded.  As it is, it goes on too long to only get nowhere.

Beautiful harmonies but that doesn't make it a good song.

Big thanks to Fall Breaks for putting together a viable list of songs to vote from. I will quote his disclaimer text:

Quote
All songs legally released. Rounds not strictly defined by eras, since I wanted about an album’s length of songs in every round. May or may not work. No guarantee that I haven’t forgot to include some obscure track. You could argue that especially the 1969-1971 “suffers” from having too many strong tracks where only one can win, but then again, only one Pet Sounds track made it to the finals as well. Version specifications have to be made for some tracks, e.g. Can’t Wait Too Long and It’s A Beautiful Day).

So... without further ado....

Sail Plane Song sailed away on it's plainess. Sad

We are back to voting for one song. Final round begins now!

VOTE FOR YOUR FAVORITE SONG!!!

I will tally votes on February 11th!!!

The Little Girl I Once Knew
Old Man River (Twofer version)
Can’t Wait Too Long

Round#1 - Ruby Baby January 24
Round#2 - Three Blind Mice January 26
Round#3 - With A Little Help From My Friends January 28
Round#4 - Graduation Day January 29
Round#5 - The Letter January 31
Round#5 - You’re Welcome January 31
Round#6 - Trombone Dixie February 3
Round#6 -  Mona Kana February 3
Round#7 - Walk On By February 4
Round#7 - A Time To Live In Dreams February 4
Round#8 - We’re Together Again February 6
Round#8 - Their Hearts Were Full Of Spring (1967) February 6
Round#9 - Sail Plane Song February 8

My fave is ... The Little Girl I Once Knew.
