Two race courses in 2 days. Is AGD organising this tour?

If they play Harlow Stadium next then the Beach Boys really are going to the dogs!

Got my tickets for Brian today, I'll pass on whatever "The Beach Boys" are doing this summer
Oh man, you're lucky! What kin of tickets did you get?

2 row up, nearest seated section to the stage. Sadly it's a little far back since for whatever reason they decided to have a standing section at a Brian Wilson gig, bizarre

Harlow Stadium

Ha, my old hometown.

A Brian Wilson standing gig is okay.  Rock n' roll, and all that.  Was standing near the front at his Roundhouse show a few years ago.  I recall a guy jumped the barrier at one point (god knows why) and was hauled off by security.

I remember that-it wasn't me, by the way!
I really enjoyed standing at The Roundhouse although the look on Brian's face when Gary Griffin's keyboard collapsed...!!

Oh yeah, I remember!   I was over that end of the stage.  I recall him having to kneel to pound out the rest of the song.

There's another UK Racecourse show July 25 in York. The third one in a week.

We can call it now "The Racecourse Tour"  Grin

The lineup varies a little but seeing the legendary Dean is great, and it will be fun.

Seeing Dean is indeed great... hearing him - not so much.

Looking at the BB UK schedule I noticed how it coincides with Brian's appearance at Cork 7/4. Hmmmm.

"ladies and gentlemen...please welcome my cousin, Mike Love"

Crowd goes wild

It's just not shocking anymore, Mike and Bruce would play a car wash opening if the price was right

Well looks like I'll be seeing M&B twice this year. Glad to see they're doing quite a few UK shows this year, although a part of me wished at least one was in a concert hall instead of at a festival/racecourse/boat race/car show. But can't complain (even if I just did ... slightly).

Yeah, hardly anyone turns up for this kind of show:

Epsom, 2011.

From what I've seen online and from what I've experienced first hand here, it seems that these "special event" type venues for concerts are much nicer and much better attended in the UK than the US. Although, that probably has more to do with the rate that they tour the UK instead of conditions of race tracks and fairgrounds....

I was shocked at how well attended some of the outdoor shows that the band played in the U.S. were last year as well though. 8-10,000 for some of those fair shows.

Of course, Brian never plays less than "quality" venues, and has NEVER once in his life mentioned money.

Interestingly Mike commented about playing different sized venues on Facebook when asked:

`Dale, that's a great question. For me, it doesn't matter if it is a large crowd or a small crowd, I know that they are there to celebrate and enjoy the music. So every show to me is high profile. we do our best to deliver a show our fans have come to expect and enjoy! From ballroom to stadium, theater to race track....I am all in! All of our fans are important to me. Sometimes there are venue restrictions that impact the production of the show, but we focus on the quality of the music. I hope that makes some sense....I am a bit jet legged. Rest well my friend.......ML`

Also, one look at M&B`s schedule in Japan this month reinforces again how touring with Brian was never likely to be a long term thing.

Cramming in 9 shows between the March 25-30. Kerching!

Math not your strong suit, is it ? I could five shows, not nine. Three in Tokyo, one each in Hokkaido and Osaka.

And reading Japanese isn`t your strong suit I presume?  Tongue

One show in Hokkaido.

Two shows in Osaka (on the same day).

Six shows in Tokyo (two each day for three days).
