Sadly, I've recently discovered that two of my very favorite WSC quotes are very likely spurious... alas.
1 - while weaving his way across the Commons Lobby after a heavy night in the bar, fellow MP Bessie Braddock (not the most facially favored, it must be said) stopped him and observed loudly, "Winston, you are drunk !". He flashed back, "and you, madame, are ugly - but in the morning, I shall be sober !"
Dang… always put that one down to WC Fields
I'll be crushed if the first use of the phrase "Iron Curtain", attributed to Churchill (from a speach he made at a univeristy in Missouri) turns out to have actually been Fields!

Bumping up this thread. I was just listening to Pet Projects: Brian Wilson Productions, which of course contains the A and B sides by Rachel and the Revolvers.
I know we don't know who "Rachel" was, but wouldn't it be in some sort of Capitol record book? They must have cut her a check, right? I wonder if she's still alive. It would be wonderful to hear her thoughts on being involved in such an early BW production. If she was just paid for the day, what would they have done if this single became a hit? Contact her and send her out on tour?

I've seen mention of
Carolyn
Willis as a likely candidate (here on page 40):

That name doesn't seem to have been brought up here yet.
Just saying.
